And so we have yet another Saturday evening in old Northampton Town..... but hang on! this Saturday sees a break from the norm, the kids can rock and roll once more! Wilson hit the Labour Club!
By not having any particular political allegiances, I have missed out on this particular establishment in the heart of my hometown, where you can still get a pint of lager, a coke AND a packet of peanuts and still have change from £2.50! Heck, it's even got a 5p fruit machine!
The light show was so basic, it was Bauhaus-esque, however, the sound was great, despite missing a guitarist.
However, the band did acquire makeshift dancers and bongo players at various points during the show to make up the numbers.
As far as I could tell, I think the band even won over a few of the locals who wandered in hoping for their usual quiet Saturday evening pint. However, they did play it cautiously, congregating by the door, ready for a sharp exit, should Botty's megaphonic warblings threaten the structural integrity of the premises.
Thanks for a Big Saturday boys and girls.
Is this the new Red Wedge? Red Wedgies? or just Red Veggies?
